Shravasti

Shravasti was the second capital of the Koshala state of ancient India. Mahatma Buddha lived here for many years. It is on the banks of the Rapti River in the Shravasti district of the modern Uttar Pradesh state, and is close to the border of Nepal. It is one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites of Buddhism.
